Ivan Perišić Signs New PSV Contract Until 2027

Ivan Perišić will stay with PSV Eindhoven until June 2027. The Croatian winger has agreed to a new contract, ending rumors of a move to Barcelona.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Perišić, 36, is signing a two-year contract extension with PSV. He was crucial in PSV’s Eredivisie title win last season, registering 16 goals and 11 assists in 35 appearances. He even scored seven times and assisted three goals in the club’s last eight league matches. Barcelona were interested in signing Perišić as a possible backup for the injured Lamine Yamal, but the Croatia international has decided to stay in Eindhoven. Perišić’s contract signing will soon be made official.

According to a previous report we published, Ivan Perisic is on the verge of signing a new two-year contract with PSV Eindhoven until 2027.

PERIŠIĆ’S IMPACT AND PSV’S SEASON

Perišić joined PSV from Hajduk Split in September 2024. He excelled at his new club, scoring key goals and providing assists. The Dutch side won the league title by finishing two points above second-placed Feyenoord. Perišić’s presence next season should bolster their chances of another title charge. The team will face Feyenoord in the Johan Cruyff Shield, which marks the beginning of the new domestic season. In the Eredivisie, PSV will be joined in the Champions League group stages by Ajax, who finished third last season.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR PERIŠIĆ AND PSV?

Perišić’s Barcelona snub means PSV manager Pierre van Hooijdonk can call upon his services next season. Despite their league win last season, PSV are trying to make additions to their squad. Centre-back Reuell Walters is close to joining from Nottingham Forest.
