Paul Pogba Breaks Down in Tears as He Joins Monaco

Paul Pogba could not hold back his emotions after signing with AS Monaco, visibly crying during his official contract unveiling and marking a dramatic new chapter in his football journey.

WHAT HAPPENED?

During his presentation as a new Monaco player, Pogba became overwhelmed and broke down in tears. The emotional moment quickly went viral as the French midfielder put pen to paper after a long and difficult period away from the game. Pogba last played for Juventus in September 2023, against Empoli, before serving a lengthy ban from football, which ended in March this year. After months of training and rehabilitation, he now returns to top-level competition, joining Monaco on a two-year deal. The club’s sporting director, Thiago Scuro, was present and offered Pogba support during the signing, thanking him and expressing excitement for the future together.

According to a previous report we published, Paul Pogba signed with Monaco until June 2027 after terminating his contract with Juventus due to a doping violation.

A NEW START IN LIGUE 1

This move marks Pogba’s first time playing in France’s Ligue 1, despite his past successes in Serie A with Juventus and the Premier League with Manchester United. Monaco, who finished third in Ligue 1 last season, have ambitions to challenge for the title and ensure qualification to the Champions League. Pogba’s arrival is being seen as a statement of intent by the club, hoping his experience and leadership can help elevate their midfield. Fans and teammates alike are eager to see if Pogba can rediscover the form that made him a World Cup winner in 2018.

As previously reported, Monaco are determined to challenge the supremacy of Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 as well as eventually qualifying for the Champions League.

LOOKING AHEAD

Pogba now faces the challenge of returning to full match fitness and proving himself in a new league. Monaco’s first competitive match of the new campaign will be a crucial test, with expectations running high. The team will look to integrate Pogba quickly as they prepare for the season opener against Le Havre. Monaco are currently aiming to close the gap to leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who finished eight points ahead. Pogba’s debut is highly anticipated, and all eyes will be on how he influences Monaco’s midfield and their quest for trophies.

According to previous reports, Monaco have prioritized signing Pogba, Ansu Fati, and Eric Dier.
