Jayden Addai Travels to Italy as Como Close In on €14m Transfer from AZ Alkmaar

Jayden Addai is close to joining Serie A team Como. The club agreed to pay AZ Alkmaar €14 million for him. The talented 19-year-old winger is now in Italy visiting Como. A final decision on the transfer is expected soon.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Como and AZ Alkmaar have a verbal agreement for Addai. The transfer fee is set at €14 million for the Dutch youth player. Addai scored three goals in 35 senior games last season. He also did well in AZ’s U19 team, scoring four goals and helping them win the 2023 UEFA Youth League. Como, led by Cesc Fabregas, beat Bologna to get the winger. Addai’s visit to Italy shows the deal is nearly done. It depends on personal terms and his approval.

Como FC is led by coach Cesc Fabregas according to a previous report.

COMO’S AMBITIONS AND ADDING FIREPOWER

Signing Addai shows Como’s goals as they prepare for the new Serie A season. After doing well in in their first season and finishing 10th in the Serie A, Como will rely on Addai’s speed and skills. They aim to survive and make an impact in Italy’s top league. Como finished 10th in Serie A last season. Their first Serie A game will be against Empoli, who finished 17th, just three points above relegation.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR ADDAI AND COMO?

Once they agree on personal terms, Addai is expected to sign a long-term contract with Como. He will then start pre-season training. Como’s next task is to create a team that can compete in Serie A. Their first games are crucial as they play Empoli and Genoa, both close to relegation last season. All eyes will be on Addai to see if his talent can help Como stay in the top league.
