Liverpool Reject Bayern Munich Approach for Luis Díaz

Liverpool have rejected a move from Bayern Munich for Luis Díaz. Bayern want Díaz as a replacement for Leroy Sané, who has moved to Galatasaray. The German outfit are not offering a player in exchange for the Colombian winger, though they are pressing to include a buy-back clause that will give Liverpool the chance to re-sign him in the future.

A previous report confirmed the departure of Leroy Sané to Galatasaray.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Díaz, 28, has had a good season playing as a left-winger and as a central striker, but failed to have a position in the starting lineup for most of the season. He has featured in 41 matches from the start and scored 27 goals for the Premier League leaders.

Liverpool completed the 2024/25 Premier League season in first place, maintaining a strong performance throughout the campaign.

WHAT NEXT FOR DÍAZ?

Díaz still has over 18 months left on his existing deal with Liverpool, though he is refusing to settle for a new contract extension.

His future at Liverpool thus remains uncertain as the 28-year-old has attracted interest from elsewhere.

Liverpool are preparing for the new Premier League season aiming for a top-four finish, indicating they are likely to keep all key players, including Díaz.
