Christian Kabasele Signs New Contract With Udinese

Udinese have signed Belgian defender Christian Kabasele to a new contract. His previous contract expired last week. The new contract will last until June 2026 and can be extended for another year.

According to a previous report, Kabasele‘s new deal runs until 2026.

WHAT WAS AGREED?

Kabasele, 34, has been important for Udinese since joining from Watford in July 2023. He started in more than half of the team’s Serie A games last season, bringing experience to the defense. His first contract was ending in June 2025, causing speculation about his future. After playing well for coach Kosta Runjaic, the team wanted to keep him. The new deal shows they trust his ability and leadership.

His previous contract was set to expire in June 2025, as noted in a previous report.

KABASELE’S IMPACT AND UDINESE’S SEASON

In the 2024/25 season, Kabasele helped Udinese stay out of the relegation zone. The team finished 15th in Serie A, six points above relegation. Kabasele made 25 league appearances and was praised for his calmness and leadership. His experience helped younger players adjust to the top-level competition.

For the 2024/25 season, it is confirmed that Udinese finished 15th in Serie A.

WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR UDINESE?

With Kabasele under contract until 2026, Udinese can focus on improving other positions. The next game is the start of the 2025/26 Serie A season in August. They aim to perform better than last season and move higher up the table. Preseason friendlies will help prepare and incorporate new players.
