Real Madrid Secure Young Talent Rachad Fettal from Almería

Real Madrid will sign 20-year-old striker Rachad Fettal from Almería. He will join the club’s Castilla team in the upcoming season.

DEAL AGREED FOR PROMISING FORWARD

Rachad Fettal grew up in Almería’s youth academy. He will move to Real Madrid this summer. The Spanish-born Moroccan forward made his professional debut at 16. He gained La Liga experience with Almería’s first team in December 2023. Last season, he scored once in the Segunda División, playing 188 minutes in limited appearances. His first role at Real Madrid will be with Castilla. Álvaro Arbeloa manages the club’s reserve side.

According to a previous report, Villarreal finished 5th in La Liga last season.

CONTEXT: CASTILLA REINFORCED AS ALMERÍA REBUILD

Fettal is the fifth Moroccan to join Real Madrid, showing the club’s commitment to young international talent. This adds depth to Castilla, who want to improve on their last mid-table finish in Primera Federación. Almería, now in Segunda División, are reshaping their squad. They aim to return to La Liga after a tough season that saw them last in the league.

Real Madrid aims to build momentum before the new La Liga season, as noted in a recent report here.

LOOKING AHEAD: FETTAL’S OPPORTUNITIES AND NEXT FIXTURES

Fettal will compete for a starting spot in Castilla’s attack next season. Real Madrid Castilla’s first game is in late August against Deportivo La Coruña, who finished just above them last season. Fettal’s progress will be watched closely. Strong performances could give him future opportunities with Real Madrid’s first team. Almería start their Segunda División campaign next month, aiming to return to La Liga immediately.

Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup on July 5, as reported here.
