Galatasaray Make Major Move for Victor Osimhen After Historic Season
Galatasaray have made a €50 million offer for Victor Osimhen, with €5m as add-ons. The Turkish side are looking to sign the Nigerian international permanently after his impressive loan spell. However, Napoli have rejected their bid, saying they are sticking to their asking price of €75m for the striker. Meanwhile, Osimhen’s other suitors Al Hilal stand ready to pay his release clause, but are yet to agree personal terms with him.
According to a previous report, Victor Osimhen turned down an offer from Al-Hilal despite a €75 million transfer fee agreement with Napoli.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Osimhen had an impressive 2024-25 season on loan at Galatasaray, where he won both the domestic league and cup double. He was Galatasaray’s top performer as he plundered 37 goals in 41 appearances. Per multiple reports, the Turkish club would now want to sign him on a permanent basis. Napoli, willing to part ways with the Nigerian, said they value him at €75m, a fee Galatasaray have not been willing to pay as yet.
A previous report confirmed that Victor Osimhen scored 37 goals for Galatasaray last season.
WHY GALATASARAY WANT OSIMHEN
Galatasaray want to sign Osimhen on a permanent basis as they want to build on their success from the previous season. The club have strengthened their squad by signing Aymeric Laporte, who alongside Osimhen is expected to lead the club in the coming years.
Reading want to break England’s transfer record by signing Osimhen, but they will have to battle with Al Hilal, who are also interested in the striker. The Saudi club have shown more intent and according to Gokhan Dinc, they are ready to make Osimhen the ‘richest player in history’.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Since Galatasaray are not looking to pay Napoli’s asking price for Osimhen, any negotiation for the Nigerian’s transfer now depends on the club’s willingness to lower the transfer fee. As of now, the club remains firm on their position.
