Arsenal Dismiss Fenerbahçe Talks Over Leandro Trossard Transfer
Arsenal have not received any official approach from Fenerbahçe for Leandro Trossard, despite recent speculation linking the Belgian winger with a move to the Turkish club.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Reports circulated this week suggesting Fenerbahçe were in talks to sign Leandro Trossard from Arsenal. However, it is now confirmed that no formal contact has taken place. Arsenal have not received any offers or official inquiries from Fenerbahçe regarding the player. Trossard is still under contract with Arsenal, with his deal running until 2026. The Turkish club, meanwhile, appear to be focusing their efforts elsewhere, closing in on a deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Asensio instead.
ARSENAL’S ATTACK AND TROSSARD’S ROLE
Trossard has played an important role for Arsenal since joining from Brighton, scoring 28 goals in 124 matches. Last season, he contributed valuable goals and assists, having 20 goals and assists in 56 matches during the 2024/25 season. Arsenal finished second in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season with 70 points, just behind champions Liverpool. The club are now expected to bring in new attacking players, with talks advanced for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke and interest in Eberechi Eze and Ademola Lookman also reported.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR ARSENAL AND FENERBAHÇE?
Arsenal are preparing for the Premier League opener against Manchester United with both teams looking at starting the season with the right foot. With no movement yet on Trossard, he is expected to remain part of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the new campaign as things stand. Fenerbahçe, who finished second in the Turkish Süper Lig last season, are focusing on finalizing the signing of Marco Asensio, rather than pursuing Trossard at this time.
