Napoli Launch Official Bid to Sign Lorenzo Lucca From Udinese

Napoli have made a formal offer to sign Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese. They want to strengthen their attack before the new Serie A season. The offer includes a €9 million loan fee and a €26 million obligation to buy. The clubs are discussing further add-ons. Talks are advanced, but Udinese need to approve those add-ons before a deal is complete. As per recent reports, Napoli plan to acquire Lucca for a total possible price of €35 million.

DETAILS OF THE BID

If the transfer happens, Lucca, 24, will join Napoli on loan first. Napoli will then have to buy him next summer. Lucca has already agreed to personal terms, signing until June 2030 with a salary of €2 million per year plus bonuses, as confirmed by official sources. Udinese bought Lucca from Pisa in 2024 for €8 million. They stand to make a big profit if the deal happens. Last season, Lucca scored 12 goals and had 1 assist in 33 games for Udinese. This aligns with verified data indicating his consistent form during that period.

WHY NAPOLI MADE THIS MOVE

Napoli finished as winners in Serie A last season, their 3rd trophy in history and as such will play the Champions League this season. They want to rebuild under Antonio Conte. Lucca is viewed as an ideal backup and potential successor to Romelu Lukaku. Napoli tried to sign other strikers like Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez but failed. They then turned their attention to Lucca. The sale of Victor Osimhen, who is set to join Galatasaray for €75 million, has made it urgent for Napoli to find a new goalscorer, as per latest updates.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The final step is for Udinese to approve the add-ons in the deal. If they agree, Lucca could join Napoli before pre-season ends. Napoli start their Serie A campaign against Sassuolo, who finished as one of the promoted teams from the Serie B last season. This shows the need to catch up with teams ahead of them. Udinese, who ended last season 12th, will need to quickly reinvest if Lucca leaves. They start their new campaign against Hellas Verona.
