AC Milan And Fikayo Tomori Begin Talks For New Contract

AC Milan have started talks with defender Fikayo Tomori for a new contract. This follows major offers from Premier League teams that Tomori turned down earlier this year.

WHAT HAPPENED

Tomori’s strong performances have convinced both the club and coach Massimiliano Allegri that his future should be in Milan. Although his contract lasts until 2027, talks are open to secure an even longer deal. Earlier, Juventus and Tottenham showed interest, but Tomori rejected them, showing his commitment to Milan. The club’s directors are confident they will reach an agreement and expect more meetings with the player’s agents soon. Tomori has been a consistent player in the defense, providing stability for Allegri’s back line.

AC MILAN’S SEASON SO FAR

The decision to keep Tomori comes after Milan’s disappointing eighth-place finish in Serie A last season and their Champions League playoff exit to Feyenoord. However, as of now, AC Milan is currently in the top place in Serie A, with the new campaign starting with hope under Allegri’s leadership as they sit level on points with AS Roma and Napoli, whom they beat last night. Tomori has played a vital role in a defense aimed at bouncing back.  Tomori has played in all five league matches, contributing to three clean sheets and scoring once. His stability has helped Milan push for a Champions League spot.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR MILAN AND TOMORI

Milan’s next match is against Juventus ahead of the international break, who sit 4th only one point behind the leaders. Milan need a win to stay in the Champions League race. As talks for a new contract continue, both the club and Tomori aim to finish negotiations quickly so he can focus on the pitch. Securing Tomori’s commitment would show Milan’s ambition as transfer rumors might come up in January.
