Al Hilal Make New Bid to Sign Victor Osimhen

Al Hilal, a top Saudi Pro League team, are trying hard to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. They have made a new offer, but Turkish club Galatasaray also want him.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Al Hilal have increased their offers to both Napoli and Osimhen. They offered over €70 million to Napoli and a better salary to the 26-year-old Nigerian. Earlier, Osimhen had turned down a contract worth €30 million per year from Al Hilal.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

People are talking a lot about Osimhen’s future. He did very well on loan with Galatasaray last season, scoring 37 goals. He helped them win the Turkish league. But it seems he won’t stay with his main team, Napoli, under coach Antonio Conte.

Napoli had turned down Al Hilal’s first offer of €65 million plus €5 million in bonuses. They want the full €75 million release clause in his contract. This clause only applies to clubs outside Serie A. Osimhen’s contract runs until June 2026, but Napoli can extend it for another year.

COMPETITION FROM GALATASARAY

Galatasaray are also trying hard to sign Osimhen. They can offer him Champions League football next season. This might be important because Osimhen could choose to stay in Europe rather than move to the Middle East.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR OSIMHEN?

Both Al Hilal and Galatasaray want Osimhen, so he has an important choice to make. He must decide between the money in Saudi Arabia and the chance to keep playing in Europe. Al Hilal’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, really wants him after missing out on other big players. Napoli are in 5th place in Serie A, 12 points behind leaders Inter Milan. They play Roma next weekend, trying to secure European football for next season.

Osimhen’s decision is expected soon as both teams want to finalize a deal before the summer transfer window heats up.
