Al Hilal Set to Sign New Striker for Simone Inzaghi This Summer

Al Hilal will sign a new striker in the summer transfer window. The Saudi club wants to strengthen its attack in the upcoming transfer window. Newly appointed head coach Simone Inzaghi has made the signing of a new forward a key priority this summer. Emerging reports linking Al Hilal with Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic have claimed one of the most in-form names in Europe as a target for the Saudi giants.

But Al Hilal have not held talks over a move for the Juventus forward. There has been contact regarding Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins but no formal bids have been made so far, while Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is also high on the wish list. Al Hilal were keen on Osimhen and are still keeping him on their list of targets but they are unlikely to be able to convince him to move.

The Saudi giants are also considering Morocco international Yousse En-Nesyri, while Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez is open to a transfer to Al Hilal. However, no agreement has been reached regarding a move for the Uruguay international Nunez.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

This summer marks a period of change for Al Hilal. Fresh from appointing Simone Inzaghi – one of the highest-paid coaches in world football – on a two-year deal worth around $50 million, the club wants to build a team fit for domestic and international success. Al Hilal finished the 2024/25 season as Saudi Pro League champions, setting a new points record, and also reached the AFC Champions League final. Inzaghi’s arrival signals even greater ambition, with a focus on bringing in a new striker and left-back before the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

According to a previous report, Al Hilal are the reigning Saudi Pro League champions.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Al Hilal’s immediate focus is on finalising new signings before the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup gets underway later this summer. They want all new players in place to challenge Europe’s best clubs at that tournament. The Saudi champions will also begin their title defence in the Pro League later this summer.

Al Hilal will face Al Nassr next.
