Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is now a top transfer target for Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal. They have made an official three-year contract offer and are ready to meet any financial demands from the Portuguese star.

SAUDI GIANTS PURSUE UNITED CAPTAIN

Al Hilal have made a big bid to sign Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes before the Club World Cup this summer. The Saudi team reportedly met with Fernandes’ agents on Monday and offered a three-year contract with no financial limits. They’ve been interested in him for two years, even before he signed his latest United contract that runs until 2027.

The timing of the move seems planned, as Al Hilal want to sign Fernandes before the Club World Cup starts on June 14. Since Neymar left, the Saudi Pro League has been looking for a new big-name player to lead the project, and Fernandes is a good fit.

FERNANDES ENJOYING STRONG SEASON DESPITE UNITED STRUGGLES

Despite Manchester United’s bad Premier League season, where they are 15th in the table, Fernandes has been a top performer. The 30-year-old midfielder leads the Premier League in chances created and has scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists in 51 games across all competitions this season.

His creativity is especially evident in United’s Europa League campaign, where he’s been involved in 11 goals. Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting CP for €65 million and has become one of the world’s top attacking midfielders, mentioned alongside players like Kevin De Bruyne and Martin Ødegaard.

AMORIM VIEWS FERNANDES AS IMPORTANT TO UNITED PROJECT

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, who took over from Erik ten Hag after he was sacked in October, sees Fernandes as a key part of his rebuilding project at Old Trafford. Amorim has said he does not want to lose his captain, calling him a “key, important piece” of his plans to rebuild the struggling club.

Amorim and Fernandes have known each other since their time in Portugal, with Amorim coming to United from Sporting CP, Fernandes’ former club. Despite the managerial change earlier in the season, Fernandes has been one of the few consistent performers in a disappointing campaign for the Red Devils.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR UNITED AND FERNANDES?

As Fernandes is under contract until 2027, Manchester United is in a strong position in any potential negotiations. However, the financial power of the Saudi Pro League could test United’s determination, especially if Fernandes is interested in the move.

United’s bad league position could also affect Fernandes’ decision. The club is currently 15th in the Premier League, a disappointing place for a team of their size. European clubs are also watching the situation, with reports suggesting Champions League teams are interested in the Portuguese midfielder as well.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on whether Amorim can persuade his captain to stay at Old Trafford and lead a significant rebuild under the Portuguese manager’s guidance.
