Alex Valle Moves from Barcelona to Como Permanently

Como have agreed to sign young full-back Alex Valle from Barcelona for €6 million. His contract will last until June 2029. The paperwork should be signed soon, ending Valle’s time at Barcelona and confirming his future at the Serie A club.

WHAT HAPPENED?

After performing well on loan at Como during the second half of the 2024/25 season, the club decided to make Valle‘s move permanent. Valle is a 21-year-old left-back who can also play on the right. The transfer fee is split: €4 million now and €2 million in 2026. Valle’s strong display made him an important player under head coach Cesc Fabregas. Como prioritized signing him permanently despite interest from Real Betis and Borussia Dortmund.

VALLE’S JOURNEY AND TEAM CONTEXT

Valle has had development periods with Levante and Celtic but truly shined during his time at Como. He played 14 Serie A matches, helping the team finish mid-table in their first season after promotion. Valle featured in preseason for Barcelona but didn’t break through under new coach Hansi Flick. Como saw his potential and signed him permanently, showing confidence in his abilities. Valle leaves Barcelona with 22 appearances for the B team and one assist, but without any senior matches.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR COMO AND VALLE?

Como aim to build on their solid return to Serie A, with Valle expected to be a key player in defense for future seasons. The team won’t be in European competition next year, giving them time to focus on improving their league performance. Their next match will start the 2025/26 Serie A campaign, where they hope to improve their mid-table finish and move closer to higher-ranked teams. Valle will be eager to prove his worth by maintaining his excellent form and supporting Como’s success in Italy’s top league.
