Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed excitement about the potential of Marcelo’s son, Enzo Alves, following his recent performances for the club.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Enzo Alves, the 15-year-old son of Real Madrid legend Marcelo, made his debut for the club’s U19 team in a derby match against Atlético Madrid. Despite his age, Enzo made an immediate impact, providing a crucial assist with a backheel pass just minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 77th minute. His contribution led to Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory, strengthening their position in the league title race.

WHAT ANCELOTTI SAID

“I don’t know him well. We took photos when he was small. I have a fond memory of the 2014 Champions League final, when I took a photo with Marcelo’s son and Xabi Alonso’s son. The whole club is really excited about him. If he has the quality of his father, bingo!” Ancelotti commented on Enzo Alves.

The Italian coach added, “Everyone at Real Madrid is very excited to see Enzo’s development, and we’ll see how far he can go.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Enzo Alves has been part of Real Madrid’s youth academy since 2017 and has consistently impressed with his performances. Unlike his father, who was a left-back, Enzo plays as a forward and has shown remarkable goal-scoring ability, netting close to 150 goals in Real Madrid’s youth teams. His recent promotion to the U19 squad at just 15 years old highlights the club’s confidence in his potential.

WHAT NEXT?

Real Madrid’s youth team will continue their pursuit of the league title and the Copa de Campeones, with Enzo Alves expected to play a significant role. The club’s plan is to include him in the U19 squad next year, further accelerating his development. Meanwhile, Enzo will also represent Spain’s U17 national team in upcoming European Championship qualifiers, showcasing his talent on the international stage.
