Samsunspor announced Makoumbou‘s arrival after the 26-year-old signed a contract valid until 2029. The Congolese international had a strong season with Cagliari, making 34 appearances and assisting three times. His performances caught the attention of several European teams, including Schalke 04 and Panathinaikos. Eventually, Samsunspor signed him, expecting his experience to bring stability and strength to the midfield, key for their progress in the Turkish top flight.
