Antonio Conte Makes History with Fifth Serie A Title at Napoli
Antonio Conte has led Napoli to win the 2024/25 Serie A championship. This is his fifth Italian league title as a manager. He is the first coach to win Serie A with three different clubs.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Conte became the coach of Napoli in June 2024. He took over a team that finished 10th the previous season and had three different coaches. He quickly improved their performance. Napoli won the Scudetto on May 23, 2025, with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari in their final game. Napoli finished the season with 82 points.
Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay were key players. Even though they lost star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG in January, Napoli kept winning. They only lost one game after his departure and won seven consecutive matches from December to February.
CONTE JOINS AN ELITE GROUP
This win adds to Conte’s impressive record. He previously led Juventus to three consecutive titles from 2011 to 2014 and won the league with Inter Milan in 2021. Conte also won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2017, making it six top-flight titles in total.
He led Napoli to only their fourth Scudetto, rebounding from one of their worst seasons. Conte is now the first Italian coach to win Serie A with three different clubs under normal circumstances. Fabio Capello came close, but Conte’s achievement is unmatched because of unique circumstances.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR CONTE AND NAPOLI?
With Napoli as champions, attention is now on their preparations for the next season. Conte will aim to strengthen the squad and compete in the Champions League. Napoli fans hope for another strong campaign as the club tries to defend their title against rivals like Inter and Juventus, who finished just a few points behind.
The summer transfer window will be important. Several players’ futures need to be decided as Conte plans his squad for another title challenge.
