Antonio Rüdiger Out for Three Months with Thigh Injury

Real Madrid confirmed that defender Antonio Rüdiger has a serious thigh injury. He is expected to be out for about three months. The German international might come back by December, depending on his recovery.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Rüdiger got hurt during a training session after returning from playing with Germany. Medical staff found an injury to a muscle in his left leg. This type of injury usually needs a long recovery. Sources say he’ll miss at least three months. Rüdiger won’t play against Real Sociedad this weekend. He’s also out for big games like the Madrid derby, El Clásico, and Champions League matches.

IMPACT ON REAL MADRID’S SEASON

The injury comes at a tough time for Real Madrid. They’ve started their La Liga season strong, currently leading the table with four wins from four matches according to reports. Rüdiger’s injury adds to a list of injured players, including Jude Bellingham, who is expected to miss several crucial games, including El Clásico. Rüdiger had been playing a supporting role in defense after rejoining the team from a knee injury. With David Alaba struggling and Eder Militão just returning, Real’s defense will be tested. They have a lot of games, including a Champions League opener soon.

WHAT NEXT FOR ALONSO’S TEAM?

Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad, 2-1 even though they played with one less player for an hour last saturday. Madrid wants a fourth straight win to stay on top, ahead of Barcelona by two points. Then, they play their Champions League group opener at Santiago Bernabéu against Marseille. Later, they face Espanyol in league play. Their next big test is against Atlético Madrid. Alonso needs players like Dean Huijsen and Eder Militão to perform well. Dani Carvajal might also fill in if injuries continue. Real must keep their top spot while managing a busy schedule without some main players.
