Argentine Wonderkid Mastantuono Chooses Real Madrid Over PSG

Franco Mastantuono, a top young player from South America, has picked Real Madrid over Paris Saint-Germain. The 17-year-old River Plate midfielder agreed on personal terms with Madrid. Now, the Spanish club will negotiate transfer fees with his Argentine team.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Mastantuono made it clear he wants to play for Real Madrid. The young player agreed on personal terms with the Spanish team and turned down PSG. Paris Saint-Germain showed serious interest recently. Coach Luis Enrique even spoke directly with the player. But Mastantuono’s desire to join Madrid won out. Real Madrid will now negotiate the transfer with River Plate.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Real Madrid have been busy in the transfer market this summer. Mastantuono might become their fourth signing. Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold have already joined, and Alvaro Carreras is also set to arrive. These moves show the strategy of coach Xabi Alonso, who supports the Mastantuono deal.

The 17-year-old is seen as one of South America’s best young talents. He would add to Madrid’s impressive group of young stars. Real Madrid do not want to pay his full €45 million release clause. They will try to negotiate better terms with River Plate. Still, the club is confident a deal will be reached soon. Even if it ends quickly, Mastantuono cannot join Madrid’s squad for the Club World Cup. He has to wait until he turns 18 in August.

WHAT NEXT FOR MASTANTUONO?

If the transfer happens, Mastantuono will stay with River Plate until his 18th birthday. This means he will play in the Club World Cup for the Argentine club instead of joining Madrid. The midfielder is under contract with River Plate until December 2026, giving his club some power in negotiations.

Real Madrid’s schedule is tough in the coming months with both home and international games. For Mastantuono, this move is a big step in his career. He will join one of the world’s biggest clubs at just 17 years old. PSG is watching in case the deal with Madrid falls through. But most signs show the Argentine star will get his dream of wearing Madrid’s famous white shirt.
