Arsenal Open Talks for Eberechi Eze Transfer as Tottenham Rival Interest

Arsenal have contacted Eberechi Eze’s representatives to discuss a potential move for the Crystal Palace and England star. Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the attacking midfielder, setting up a summer transfer battle between the North London rivals.

ARSENAL MAKE FIRST MOVE

Arsenal have officially reached out to Eze‘s camp to explore the terms of a possible transfer. The 27-year-old attacker is one of several top targets being considered by Arsenal as they strengthen their attack for the upcoming season. Eze has a release clause set at £60 million, with potential bonuses taking it up to £68 million. Early talks are at a preliminary stage, but Arsenal are eager to move quickly, with Tottenham closely monitoring the situation and prepared to rival them for his signature.

CRYSTAL PALACE STAR SHINES

Eze enjoyed a standout 2024/25 season with Crystal Palace, cementing his status as one of the Premier League‘s most creative midfielders. He played a vital role in Palace’s campaign as they secured a mid-table finish and also lifted the FA Cup, which was a historic achievement for the club. He recorded a number of goals and assists in the league and his fine displays earned him a spot in the national team squad for the summer tournaments. He also earned the observation of several big clubs from England.

According to a previous report, Marc Guehi was key for Crystal Palace last season leading them to FA Cup success and helping them finish 10th in the Premier League.

WHAT’S NEXT IN THE TRANSFER SAGA?

Arsenal are looking to finalise the other major deals on the table, including completing the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. The Gunners, who finished second in the Premier League last season, want to build a squad capable of competing for the title once again while going further in the Champions League, where they have an automatic place in the group stage.

According to a previous report, Arsenal finished second in the Premier League in the 2024/25 season.

Palace, meanwhile, will hope to keep their star midfielder but may find themselves needing to negotiate his potential exit if his release clause is met. Arsenal are next in action later this month in a pre-season friendly, while Tottenham, who like the Gunners will play Champions League football this season, are expected to remain in the race for Eze, making for one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas.
