Arsenal played a fantastic game at Santiago Bernabeu, beating the current champions Real Madrid 2-1. This victory means Arsenal is now in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals with an aggregate score of 5-1. They will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the next round for a spot in the final.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Arsenal started the second leg with a 3-0 lead. Things got tense early when Bukayo Saka missed a penalty. Real Madrid also won a penalty, but VAR overturned the decision. Saka then made up for his miss by scoring after a clever pass from Mikel Merino. Real Madrid quickly equalized through Vinicius Junior. Though Madrid put pressure on Arsenal, the Gunners stood firm. In stoppage time, Gabriel Martinelli scored, sealing the 2-1 victory and putting Arsenal in the semi-finals for the first time in over a decade.

ARSENAL’S RESURGENCE AND SEASON SO FAR

Nobody thought Arsenal could defeat the defending champions, especially when key players got injured. But Arsenal did well in both games, thanks to excellent performances from Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli. Saka has been great this season, scoring and assisting many goals. Arsenal’s defense has been strong in Europe. They are also in a tight race for the Premier League title. They’ll face PSG next, who beat Aston Villa to reach the semi-finals. It will be an exciting match, with the first leg on April 29 at the Emirates Stadium and the return leg in Paris.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR ARSENAL AND REAL MADRID?

Arsenal is now getting ready to play PSG, hoping to keep their dream run going. In the Premier League, they are still in a close title race and have important matches coming up. Real Madrid, on the other hand, need to think about a season where they made too many mistakes. Although they are still in the race for the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey final, their loss raises questions about coach Carlo Ancelotti’s future. Arsenal must stay focused as they chase both European success and the chance to win the league and Champions League double.
