Arthur Melo Returns To Gremio On Long-Term Loan From Juventus

Arthur Melo is going back to Gremio on loan from Juventus until June 2026. This is a big homecoming for the skilled Brazilian midfielder. The deal doesn’t have a buy option according to reports.

ARTHUR HEADS HOME

The deal was finalized on Thursday, confirming Arthur will be at Gremio for the next eighteen months. Juventus and Gremio had a verbal agreement, with formalities done by Friday. Arthur, now 29, began his professional career at Gremio. This move will see him return after seven years in Europe. He left Gremio for Barcelona in 2018, then moved to Juventus with loan spells at Liverpool, Fiorentina, and Girona.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR GREMIO AND JUVENTUS

Gremio are currently trying to stay in the top half of Brazil’s Serie A. They are seventh with 34 points after 21 matches. They are four points behind Red Bull Bragantino and three ahead of Athletico Paranaense. Arthur’s addition will strengthen their midfield for the rest of the season. For Juventus, this is the second big midfield exit in a week. Douglas Luiz also left on loan to Nottingham Forest. Arthur’s last stint at Girona saw him play 12 matches, score one goal, and have two assists last season as reported.

LOOKING AHEAD: FIXTURES AND EXPECTATIONS

Gremio’s next game is against league leaders Botafogo, who have 43 points and top the table. It’s a key match, as Gremio aim to close the nine-point gap to the top. Arthur is expected to play soon, bringing experience and quality to his childhood club. Juventus, meanwhile, need new midfield solutions as they start the Serie A season against Parma, who finished near the relegation spots last year. Both clubs face important matches, with Arthur’s move set to impact their seasons.
