WHAT HAPPENED?

Aston Villa has reached a total agreement with OGC Nice for the transfer of 24-year-old forward Evann Guessand in a deal valued at €35 million. Guessand is set to travel to England for his medical and contract signing, expected to sign a five-year contract, making him Villa’s first major signing of the summer. The Guessand deal will be a blow to Bayern Munich, who were also interested in signing the player. However, they wanted to include Alexander Isak in the deal, which Nice were not very keen on as they want to sign the player permanently.
