Barcelona Drop Raphinha From Starting XI Against Valencia

Barcelona have left Raphinha out of their line-up for the La Liga match against Valencia. Lamine Yamal is injured, so Roony Bardghji makes his debut on the right wing. Raphinha is on the bench.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Coach Hansi Flick didn’t start Raphinha because he was late to a training session. Barcelona are already missing star winger Lamine Yamal because of injury. Flick gave 19-year-old winger Roony Bardghji a chance to impress on his first start for the club. This match is important for Valencia too, who haven’t won a game in their last three attempts.

Overall, it’s been a mixed start to the season for Barcelona. they are however 2nd in the league, 2 points behind Real Madrid after an expressive 6-0 win against Valencia in La Liga, with 10 points from four matches. Another win to lift the spirits could change the momentum of their entire campaign.

Following Sunday’s match against Valencia, Barcelona will face Newcastle for the Champions League and Getafe in La Liga on Sunday. Getafe are 3rd with nine points from four matches. If they can win both those matches, Barcelona will be in a good position, as they are currently two points behind leaders Real Madrid, in the title race.
