Barcelona Open Talks Over Roony Bardghji Transfer
Barcelona are in talks to sign Roony Bardghji, a 19-year-old Swedish forward from FC Copenhagen. Many top European clubs are interested in the young winger.
BARCELONA MAKE THEIR MOVE
Barcelona are now talking to Bardghji’s agents about a possible deal. He is a different option from their main target Nico Williams. Porto have already bid for Bardghji, while Marseille, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested, according to The Telegraph. Bardghji is under contract with Copenhagen until the end of 2025 and has scored 15 goals in 84 matches for his current club, despite being limited to just 243 minutes this season after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.
WHY DO BARCELONA WANT BARDGHJI?
Barcelona are keen to add more attacking options amid intense interest in Nico. Bardghji is another modern player who can fill a variety of roles in their attack. While the Swede’s lack of recent playing time due to injury could be a concern, Barca will add him having watched him closely for some time. Bardghji became a regular fixture in Copenhagen’s first team at the age of 16, scoring two goals and providing an assist in his breakout season. He gradually gained more playing time, despite the presence of established forwards such as Robert Lewandowski, Vitor Roque, Angel Di Maria and Ferran Torres at Barca.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Barcelona start their 2025/26 league campaign in early August, so any move for Bardghji must happen quickly. Copenhagen, who need to sign more players before the new season starts and will be desperate for reinvestment up front, face a similar race against time. Despite failing to win the title last season, the Danish side do boast a fearsome attack that includes Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos and rising star David Datro Fofana. As for Bardghji, his future looks bright. He could soon be a star in the Italian top flight as Barcelona continue to explore all avenues to bring the talented prospect to Italy.
