Bayern Munich and Chelsea in Intense Talks Over Nico Jackson Loan Move

Bayern Munich are holding advanced negotiations with Chelsea over the signing of striker Nico Jackson. While Chelsea do not see much scope for the player under new manager Enzo Maresca, Jackson has already handed in a transfer request, according to a report in Evening Standard. However, the two clubs are finding it difficult to agree on the final sum for the deal. While Bayern want to sign Jackson on loan, Chelsea reportedly want a permanent move, including a €25 million transfer fee. The German champions have included an option to buy, but not an obligation, which continues to test Bayern’s resolve. Jackson, though, seems set for a move back to the Bundesliga as personal terms are already believed to have been agreed with the player. Now the clubs are only focusing on finalizing the details of the structure of the deal as the window closes on Friday (as per recent reports).

WILL THEY AGREE TO EACH OTHER’S TERMS?

Bayern and Chelsea are currently locked over the terms of the deal. The move is expected to be completed before Friday, with Bayern looking to strengthen their attacking department as they fight to win another title in the Bundesliga and improve their performance in the Champions League. Chelsea, meanwhile, are busy reshuffling their squad and want to offload deadwood in the form of Jackson, who arrived in London with a big reputation but has faltered in front of goal and lost space in the London team with the arrivals of Liam Delap and João Pedro this window.

DOES JACKSON WANT TO STAY AT CHELSEA?

Bayern are looking to sign Jackson for the remainder of the season with an option to purchase in the summer. Evening Standard mentioned if Jackson wants to remain at Chelsea, it’s only under different circumstances. Though Kompany’s side have failed to woo Juventus into selling Dusan Vlahovic, Jackson seems to be a favoured B plan to Harry Kane, who spent some weeks off last season due to injury. However, their lack of firepower in the attacking third could work in Jackson’s favor in terms of regaining his goal-scoring form (according to reports).

HOW MUCH WILL HE COST?

Jackson joined the Blues from Villarreal last summer. However, things have not worked out for him under new boss Enzo Maresca, as the team improved it’s attacking options with the arrival of two players that seem more favoured by the coach. Since the beginning of the season, Jackson has lost space in the team, and the club and player seem to be open to a change of scenery before the end of the transfer window (as noted in several updates).
