Bayern Munich Set for Club World Cup Showdown with PSG as Flamengo Crash Out

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain both won big to reach the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Flamengo are out of the competition.

BAYERN AND PSG ADVANCE TO QUARTER-FINALS

Bayern Munich beat Flamengo 4-2 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium to reach the quarter-finals. The German side scored early when Flamengo’s Erick Pulgar scored an own goal. A deflected shot from Harry Kane, for his 40th goal of the season, was then followed by goals from Leon Goretzka and Kane again.

Flamengo’s Gerson and Jorginho did manage to score for their side, but they could not complete the comeback. Defensive errors ultimately sealed Flamengo’s elimination and sent Bayern through to face PSG next.

According to a previous report, Chelsea will face Palmeiras in the Club World Cup quarter-finals.

THE CLUBS’ CURRENT FORM AND SEASON SO FAR

Bayern Munich have dominated once again this season, winning the 2024-25 Bundesliga season with ease. Harry Kane has emerged as one of Europe’s top scorers with over 40 goals for the campaign.

Bayern will play PSG who defeated Inter Miami 4-0. According to a previous report, PSG secured the Ligue 1 title and won the Champions League.

Both Bayern and PSG will hope to end their season with some international silverware, with both eyeing Club World Cup glory.

WHAT’S NEXT IN THE CLUB WORLD CUP?

Bayern will play PSG for a place in the semi-finals. If they win, the victors will be expected to face Real Madrid, provided the Spaniards beat Juventus and then the winner of Monterrey vs Borussia Dortmund.

According to a previous report, the Club World Cup final is scheduled for July 13.

Bayern and PSG are both favourites for the competition, and this match will be a big test for either team when they face each other on July 5th.
