Bayern’s Peretz Close to PSV Loan Move with Option to Buy

Daniel Peretz is close to joining PSV Eindhoven from Bayern Munich on a loan deal with an option to buy.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Peretz is on his way to the Eredivisie champions as he is close to completing a switch to PSV where he will sign on a season-long loan deal which includes an option for a permanent switch when the loan deal expires.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Peretz has struggled to find a place in Bayern‘s starting XI with Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig, and now might have a chance to secure regular playing time, given PSV are looking to replace departing goalkeepers Walter Benítez and Joël Drommel. Peretz had offers from Premier League clubs Burnley and Leeds United but he chose PSV which can offer him Champions League football.

TRANSFER PLANS

PSV are also planning to extend the contract of Ivan Perisic amid interest from multiple European clubs. After securing the league title last season, the Dutch club are looking forward to bolstering their squad before heading into a new season. According to reports, they have already received Bayern’s permission and have even excluded Peretz from their Club World Cup squad so that he can join the Dutch side for pre-season training.

WHAT NEXT FOR PERETZ?

The goalkeeper will hope to establish himself as the club’s number one goalkeeper in the coming days and cement his position by impressing the club authorities in the forthcoming season.
