THE BIGGER PICTURE
“[Remontada] is probably the most said word this week in the dressing room,” Bellingham admitted.
“We know the position we’re in, we know how difficult it is. We’re playing at home and we believe there’s no better place for a comeback than here It’s like this. Everyone knows what it means to play at the Santiago Bernabeu, it’s a demanding crowd and one that believes in us. We are very lucky to have their support and to play every home game here. I believe this is important. But playing against a good team, it won’t be enough. We’ll have to be more united than ever and believe.”
Bellingham added: “We have to do something spectacular to have a chance of playing in the next round and that’s the opportunity we have ahead of us. Everyone’s mindset is positive and we’re ready to give everything. We believe, why shouldn’t they believe? The atmosphere on days like this gives a little more energy, so we hope they give us strength.”
WHAT NEXT?
Real Madrid must score four goals and win by at least three to force the second leg to extra time.
