Benja Cremaschi Leaves Inter Miami for Parma: Loan Move With €4.5m Buy Option Agreed

Benja Cremaschi is going from Inter Miami to Parma on loan. The deal includes an optional buy for €4.5 million. Cremaschi will have his medical exam this week before joining the team.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Parma and Inter Miami have agreed to send Cremaschi on loan to Serie A with a €4.5 million fee to permanently buy him. Cremaschi has a contract with Inter Miami until 2027. He will have his medical exam in the United States before joining his new team in Italy. Cremaschi voiced his frustration about playing time under new coach Javier Mascherano, saying last month, “I’m frustrated, I want to play. The most important thing for me is to be at a high level, and to get there, I need minutes and experience.” Cremaschi has played 106 matches for Inter Miami, scoring seven goals and assisting nine times in 5,643 minutes.

WHY THIS TRANSFER MATTERS

Inter Miami recently suffered a 3-0 defeat against Seattle Sounders in the 2025 Leagues Cup final. The team currently sits sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference with 46 points from 28 games, only two points behind fourth-placed Philadelphia Union, but just three points ahead of seventh. Cremaschi played in the Leagues Cup final and is one of the most experienced young players on the squad, second in total appearances behind only Drake Callender and Robert Taylor. His departure means that Inter Miami loses depth in midfield, which could hurt their push for the playoff spots. On the other hand, Parma finished near the relegation spots in last season’s Serie A and are hoping his arrival boosts their midfield options as they aim to climb into the safety places.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CREMASCHI, INTER MIAMI, AND PARMA?

Cremaschi will complete his medical test this week and expects to be available for Parma’s first match after the international break. Parma are currently 16th in Serie A, with just one point from two matches, hoping to use Cremaschi’s energy and ball retention to improve their standings. Inter Miami’s next match is away to New York City FC, who sit eighth with 43 points, only three points back from Miami. Miami must adjust without Cremaschi as they battle for playoff position, while Parma look to integrate their new signing quickly, with hopes of reaching a top-seven finish this season.
