Benjamin Šeško Agrees Personal Terms With Manchester United Until 2030
Manchester United and Benjamin Šeško have agreed on personal terms. United are close to signing the striker from RB Leipzig. The contract will keep Šeško at Old Trafford until 2030. United still need to agree on a deal with Leipzig to finish the transfer, especially as they have submitted a formal bid of around £65 million plus up to £9 million in add-ons.
WHAT HAPPENED?
After many talks, Šeško and Manchester United agreed on a five-year contract. The 22-year-old striker wants to join Manchester United. Newcastle United also made a strong offer of €90 million for him. Reports say Šeško could decide the move, even though Leipzig has not accepted any offer yet. With personal terms settled, United must now make a deal with Leipzig before the Premier League season starts.
WHY ŠEŠKO MATTERS FOR UNITED
Šeško had a great 2024/25 season at RB Leipzig, where he scored 21 goals in 39 games across all competitions. He is one of the best young forwards in Europe. Manchester United had trouble scoring goals last season, finishing fifteenth in the Premier League and missing out on Champions League football. Even after signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, United still needed a steady striker. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund might leave. Šeško will bring new energy and competition, with United wanting to return to the top four next season.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR UNITED AND ŠEŠKO?
Next, Manchester United and RB Leipzig must agree on the transfer fee. Leipzig received bids from both United and Newcastle, with Newcastle reportedly offering more money. But Šeško prefers to join United, as indicated by his representatives. Manchester United begin their Premier League season next week against Arsenal. Leipzig start their Bundesliga season against Bayern Munich. United are actively watching the transfer market and are considering other players like Juventus’ Dušan Vlahović if the Šeško deal fails.
