Benjamin Šeško to Wear No.30 At Manchester United

Benjamin Šeško, Manchester United’s new striker, will wear the No.30 shirt this season after moving from RB Leipzig. Šeško has signed a deal that keeps him at Manchester United until June 2030, further solidifying his commitment to the club.

WHAT HAPPENED

Šeško chose No.30 as he starts his career at Old Trafford. United are rebuilding their attack under new coach Rúben Amorim. The Slovenia international joined after United paid RB Leipzig about €85 million, as confirmed by reports. They beat Newcastle United to the signing, which shows United’s determination to bolster their squad. Šeško was the third big forward signing this summer, after Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both of whom were also unveiled at Old Trafford.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

United are rebuilding their attack after a tough Premier League season last year, where goals were hard to find. Last season, Manchester United finished 15th in the Premier League, marking one of their worst campaigns in over 50 years. Šeško said United is a “historical club” and believes the team is “getting better and better.” The 22-year-old is expected to lead the attack, with Cunha on the left and Mbeumo on the right. United spent nearly £200 million this summer on new players, indicating their intent to return to form.

HOW ŠEŠKO FITS IN

Last season at RB Leipzig, Šeško was known as a complete center forward with good movement, aerial ability, and finishing. He scored 21 goals last season, including four in the UEFA Champions League, making him one of the standout forwards in the Bundesliga. He is seen as someone who can score more goals than United’s recent strikers. At 22, he is still learning, and Amorim’s system uses quick transitions and wide passes, which should suit Šeško’s strengths in attacking crosses and space behind defenses.

WHAT NEXT

United’s main focus now is to get their new attack working well before they open the Premier League campaign next weekend against Arsenal. Šeško could make his debut soon, with fans eager to see if he can be the consistent scorer the team needs. United’s next games will test their new attack, and early goals could reduce pressure after last season’s struggles.
