Besiktas Make Move for Jens Cajuste with Loan Offer to Napoli

Besiktas have boosted their summer transfer plans by making an offer to Napoli for midfielder Jens Cajuste. The Turkish team proposed a €1 million loan fee with an option to buy for €6.5 million.

According to a previous report, Napoli won Serie A for the 2024-25 season.

WHAT’S THE OFFER?

Besiktas want Jens Cajuste in Istanbul and have made a formal offer to Napoli: a one-year loan for €1 million, plus a €6.5 million option to buy. Cajuste, a Swedish international who was on loan at Ipswich Town last season, is not needed by Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte. Besiktas, managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, want to improve their midfield for a busy season that includes Europa League football.

WHY BESIKTAS WANT CAJUSTE

Besiktas finished fourth in the 2024/25 Turkish Super Lig, earning a Europa League spot. With the club rebuilding its team under new management, Cajuste’s high work rate and experience make him a key target. During his loan at Ipswich, he made 33 appearances with 1 goal and 1 assist, showing strong defensive and pressing skills. His physical presence and energy are important for Besiktas’s goal to close the gap to league leaders and compete in Europe.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CAJUSTE AND THE CLUBS?

Besiktas’ offer faces competition from European clubs like Burnley, Crystal Palace, and Sevilla. Both Burnley and Palace are interested, with Palace aiming to strengthen for their own European campaign next season. Napoli are expected to decide soon, as Cajuste is not part of Conte’s plans. Besiktas are preparing for pre-season and face a Europa League qualifier next, hoping new signings will boost their squad’s quality and depth.
