Bournemouth Make Move for Chelsea Goalkeeper Djordje Petrović

Bournemouth have sent an official offer to Chelsea for goalkeeper Djordje Petrović. They want him to be their main goalkeeper for the new Premier League season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Bournemouth began talks with Chelsea after making their first offer for Petrović. The 25-year-old wants to join Bournemouth. The clubs are deciding on a fee, which could be around €30 million. Earlier talks with another club, Sunderland, were not successful, so Bournemouth have a good chance to sign him. Petrović did well last season. He was on loan at Strasbourg, where he kept 10 clean sheets in 37 Ligue 1 games and helped them qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League.

WHY BOURNEMOUTH WANT PETROVIĆ

Bournemouth need a new goalkeeper after failing to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has moved to Arsenal. Petrović stood out for his good performances in France. He played every minute for Strasbourg except for the first game before his loan began. Chelsea have Robert Sanchez as their main goalkeeper now. They are open to selling Petrović if they get the right price.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR BOTH CLUBS?

If an agreement is reached soon, Petrović could join Bournemouth before their pre-season. Bournemouth finished 12th in the Premier League last season and want to improve. Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League last season, guaranteeing Champions League qualification. Bournemouth’s first match of the 2025/26 season is against reigning champions Liverpool.
