Bruno Fernandes Backs Rúben Amorim Despite Difficult Manchester United Season

Bruno Fernandes is supporting Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim. He says Amorim is “the right man” for the job even though the team had a tough season and lost in the Europa League final.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Manchester United ended their 2024-25 season by losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final. The league was also hard for United, who won only six of 26 matches since Amorim became manager in November. Despite the team’s struggles and calls for Amorim to leave, Fernandes believes in the manager. He said, “I do think Rúben Amorim is the right man for us. I don’t think what happened this season shows exactly what he is as a manager. I do think he’s the right manager for the future of this club.”

MAN UNITED’S DIFFICULT SEASON

The 2024-25 season was one of the worst in modern times for Manchester United. Amorim, who started in November, found it hard to improve the team’s results, leading to unwanted records and a low league position. Making it to the Europa League final was a high point, but United still struggled in domestic matches. The loss to Tottenham meant Spurs qualified for the Champions League, and United ended the season with no trophies and uncertain European future for next season.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Rúben Amorim said he would leave if the board wants a change, but he also wants to improve the team. United now needs to focus on the 2025-26 season, think about their squad, and plan their transfers. The club will also be looking for new players in the summer transfer market. Preseason will be important as fans and leaders hope for clear progress under Amorim. Key players like Fernandes still trust him even after recent disappointments.
