WHAT HAPPENED?

Manchester United have agreed to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for up to £71 million after weeks of talks and two rejected bids. United will pay £65 million in four instalments, with an extra £6 million in add-ons. Mbeumo chose to move to Old Trafford despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur and their former manager Thomas Frank. This transfer fee aligns with reports stating that Brentford wanted around £65 million for Mbeumo. The move is expected to be completed soon, and Mbeumo is set to join his new team for their pre-season tour of the USA this week.

Mbeumo was a standout performer for Brentford, contributing 10 goals and six assists in 29 Premier League appearances during the 2024/25 season, despite a mid-season injury.
