Bryan Zaragoza Signs for Celta Vigo on Loan with Future Transfer Clause

Bryan Zaragoza has joined Celta Vigo on loan from Bayern Munich. The move could become permanent for €13 million if Celta performs well in La Liga this season.

The 23-year-old winger has secured a move from Bayern Munich, where his playing time was limited, to Celta Vigo in La Liga. While Zaragoza initially joins on loan, the deal includes an obligation for Celta to buy him for a total package of €13 million, including a €2 million guaranteed salary, if they finish above 13th in the league table. Zaragoza, who joined Bayern in January 2024, has struggled in Germany with only seven appearances before a loan spell with Osasuna in 2024-25. He rediscovered his form at Osasuna with a goal and seven assists in 35 games.

WHY IT WORKS

The deal appears mutually beneficial for both Zaragoza and Celta. The winger was pursued by several La Liga clubs, including Barcelona, Real Betis, and Real Sociedad, but he chose Celta for the potential playing time. Celta desperately need an attacking midfielder after finishing 7th last season and qualifying for European competitions this season, and if Zaragoza can replicate his Osasuna heroics, the team may comfortably avoid another fight for survival this season and perform well in Europe. The player will also look to reignite his career after a new disastrous spell in Germany, and this opportunity appears ideal for him.

If the loan move is a success and Zaragoza becomes a permanent Celta player by next summer, Los Celestes could afford his salary due to many contracts expiring soon.
