Chelsea Manager Responds to Kudus Transfer Rumours

Enzo Maresca has talked about the rumours linking Chelsea with Mohammed Kudus. He said that the West Ham forward is still under contract with them. The Chelsea manager knows Kudus from his Ajax time but didn’t discuss any transfer possibilities.

WHAT HAPPENED?

After Chelsea‘s 2-1 win over Palmeiras, Maresca was asked about reports linking Kudus with Chelsea. He said, “He’s a West Ham player, so I can’t say anything. I know Kudus from Ajax.” Recent reports suggest Chelsea are interested in signing the Ghanaian forward, with player exchanges falling flat as West Ham prefer a cash deal around £60 million. However, Maresca’s comments suggest no deal is imminent, and that Kudus remains a key West Ham player for now.

According to a previous report, West Ham are ready to sell Mohammed Kudus, who scored seven goals and provided four assists in 31 league appearances for them last season.

CHELSEA’S BUSY SUMMER AND SQUAD PLANS

Chelsea have signed several new players this window, including Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and Joao Pedro. Chelsea signed them for up to £60 million this summer. With an ongoing rebuild in attack, the club reportedly seeking more options, especially with departures expected among current attackers. Players like Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix could leave, while Noni Madueke is drawing interest from Arsenal, with Chelsea not desperate to sell him but willing to consider offers starting at over £45 million. Chelsea’s ambition is to secure a strong attacking unit as they prepare for the new season and the Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense.

A previous report stated that Chelsea are not desperate to sell Noni Madueke but could sell him for over £45 million.

WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA AND KUDUS?

Chelsea face Fluminense next in the Club World Cup semi-final after edging Palmeiras 2-1. The team’s recent arrivals are expected to strengthen their push for titles in the coming season. For West Ham, holding onto Kudus—who played a key role last season—remains important as they look to improve on their mid-table Premier League finish. With Tottenham and other clubs also showing interest in Kudus, the transfer saga could develop further before the new campaign begins.

As highlighted in a previous report, Kudus is open to joining Tottenham, amidst ongoing interest.
