Chelsea Push for Nkunku and Jackson Exits Amid Bayern and Milan Interest

Chelsea want to sell Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson. Top clubs are interested. Chelsea and Bayern Munich are talking about Nkunku, but they haven’t agreed on a deal yet as confirmed in recent reports.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Chelsea told Bayern Munich they want to sell Nkunku permanently, not loan him. Chelsea want about €40 million plus extras for his transfer, which aligns with their open to offers between £35-43 million policy. Nkunku agreed to personal terms with Bayern, but the clubs haven’t agreed on the transfer details. Inter Milan and RB Leipzig are also interested, but Nkunku prefers Bayern. Premier League clubs and AC Milan know Nicolas Jackson might be available, but talks haven’t moved forward yet.

TEAM AND PLAYER SEASON CONTEXT

Chelsea finished 4th in the Premier League last season, qualifying for Champions League football. Nkunku had injuries, playing only 18 league games and scoring 5 goals, which was disappointing. In fact, he struggled to get regular starts after returning from injury. Nicolas Jackson played more, appearing in 36 games and scoring 12 goals, but he was inconsistent. Bayern Munich, now wanting Nkunku, finished as winners in the Bundesliga, thirteen points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen. AC Milan finished 8th in Serie A, and are rebuilding after missing out on European football. Chelsea’s next game is against Brighton. Chelsea are two points ahead of Manchester United and three behind Tottenham.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Chelsea and Bayern will likely keep negotiating as the transfer window deadline approaches. Chelsea want to sell Nkunku to sign new players like Xavi Simons, who is in discussions with the club for closer to £50 million. If a deal isn’t reached, Bayern might look for younger attacking players. For Jackson, several clubs are interested, but no advanced talks mean Chelsea might need more time. The next game could affect player values, as Chelsea aim to strengthen their squad for a top-four finish.
