Chelsea Seek Loan Move in England for Marc Guiu With No Buy Option

Chelsea plan to loan out young striker Marc Guiu for the new season. However, the club insists that no purchase option will be included in the deal. Chelsea want Guiu to stay in England to gain Premier League experience and develop his skills for the future.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Chelsea had a successful campaign in the Premier League‘s last season; they ended 4th and secured Champions League qualification. As a result, they have decided to send 19-year-old Guiu on loan for the 2025/26 season. The club wants him to adjust to English football’s style and speed by staying in England. Guiu joined Chelsea last summer from Barcelona’s youth system after the club triggered his release clause. Last season, he played 16 matches and scored six goals, but injuries and new signings limited his playing time in the second half of the season.

WHY NO BUY OPTION?

The absence of a buy option in the loan indicates that Chelsea sees Guiu’s long-term potential and does not want to risk losing him permanently. The club aims to develop young talents like Guiu within their system. By sending him on loan to another English team, Chelsea hopes he will get more playing time, adapt faster, and return as a stronger player.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CHELSEA AND GUIU?

Several English clubs, such as newly promoted Leeds United, are interested in taking Guiu on loan. Chelsea is focusing on Premier League or Championship teams for his loan move, which could happen soon, especially after they secured the Club World Cup title by defeating Champions League winners PSG in the final by 3-0. Guiu was part of the squad for the tournament but has played limited minutes so far. Chelsea’s Premier League campaign starts in mid-August, as they try to make a quest for the league title. Their next match is against Crystal Palace, who finished last season in 13th and won a historical FA Cup. Finding the right loan club will be important for Guiu’s development and Chelsea’s long-term plans for their promising Spanish striker.
