Chelsea to Offer Moises Caicedo New Contract

Chelsea are planning to start talks with Moises Caicedo about extending and improving his contract. They want to keep the midfielder at Stamford Bridge for the long term after a great first season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Caicedo has had a big impact since joining from Brighton in 2023 for a British record fee. He is under contract until 2031, but Chelsea want to reward him with better terms and maybe a longer deal. Although talks haven’t started officially, Chelsea have told Caicedo’s agents that negotiations are planned for the coming months. Other top European clubs are watching, but Chelsea aren’t interested in selling. They see him as a world-class talent.

CAICEDO’S IMPACT THIS SEASON

Caicedo has become a key player for Enzo Maresca’s side, appearing in 41 games in all competitions and starting in 39. He recently won both Chelsea’s Players’ Player of the Season and Player of the Season from the fans, which shows how important he is in midfield. His performances have helped Chelsea reach the final of the UEFA Conference League, where they will face Real Betis. In the Premier League, Chelsea are battling for a top-five finish but trail Newcastle United after a recent loss.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CHELSEA AND CAICEDO?

Caicedo and Chelsea are expected to start formal contract talks in the summer. The club has made it clear that Caicedo is not for sale and is central to their plans. Chelsea’s next game is the UEFA Conference League final against Real Betis, where they will aim for their first European trophy since 2021. They trail Newcastle by two points for a final Champions League spot with only one match remaining. Securing Caicedo for the future would be a major boost as Chelsea work towards building stability and challenge again at the top of the table next season.
