Chico Conceição Completes Permanent Transfer to Juventus from Porto

Chico Conceição has joined Juventus from Porto on a permanent deal. The transfer fee is over €30 million, as confirmed by reports detailing the financial arrangements surrounding the deal. He wanted to stay in Turin and signed documents on Monday to give up his 20% share, which expedited the final agreement between the clubs.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Juventus and Porto agreed last week on the permanent transfer of Conceição. The Italian club will pay Porto over €30 million in four installments. Conceição decided to waive his claim to roughly €3 million, a 20% share of his own transfer clause. This gesture ensured the smooth completion of the transfer and demonstrated his strong desire to remain at Juventus, even when Everton attempted to activate his €30 million release clause.

CHICO CONCEIÇÃO’S IMPACT AT JUVENTUS

Conceição impressed during his loan spell at Juventus in the 2024-2025 season. He played 40 games, scored seven goals, and provided six assists last season. His performances helped Juventus qualify for the Champions League and contributed to significant moments, such as a game-winning goal against RB Leipzig in the Champions League and two goals against Al-Ain FC in the FIFA Club World Cup. Due to his form, signing him permanently became a priority for the club, as Juventus looks to strengthen their attack.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR JUVENTUS AND CONCEIÇÃO?

Now that the transfer is complete, Juventus is focusing on preparing for the start of the Serie A season. They have returned to the group stage of the Champions League after finishing fourth last season which secured them a spot. Conceição is expected to play a major role as the team aims to close the gap on champions Napoli, who finished ahead of Inter, Atalanta and Juve. Juventus will play their first official game of the 2025-2026 Serie A season next month against Parma, who finished mid-table last campaign. All eyes will be on Conceição to see if he can continue his strong form from the loan season and help guide Juventus back to the top of the table.
