Como Ready To Splash €30m On Spanish Star Yeremay Hernández

Como manager Cesc Fabregas has confirmed his interest in signing Deportivo La Coruña winger Yeremay Hernández. The Italian side is ready to pay more than €30 million for the player’s release clause.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Como have ambitious transfer plans after their Serie A promotion. The club wants 22-year-old Spanish winger Yeremay Hernández, who has had a breakout season in Spain’s Segunda División. Fabregas acknowledged the interest, saying: “We are following Yeremay, yes… he’s an excellent player.” The Italian club is willing to pay Hernández’s release clause, which is more than €30 million following his recent renewal with La Coruña.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Yeremay has emerged as one of Spanish football’s best talents this season, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists in 36 Segunda División games. His performances have attracted several major clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal, who have been monitoring his situation. Como have already shown they can attract Spanish talent, having signed Assane Diao and Alex Valle since last summer’s promotion to Serie A.

The pursuit of Yeremay represents Como’s continued ambition in Italian football with a record transfer for the club, showing their intent to establish themselves as a serious competitor in Italian football.

FABREGAS’ IMPORTANT ROLE

Cesc Fabregas has become a central figure in Como’s project, recently rejecting Bayer Leverkusen’s advances to remain in Italy. The former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder is heavily involved in Como’s transfer strategy, with Yeremay targeted as their first major target for the summer window. The club has told Leverkusen that they consider Fabregas to be “unsellable” and are committed to backing him in the transfer market.

WHAT NEXT FOR COMO?

With Fabregas, Como are building an ambitious project that extends beyond Yeremay. The club is also interested in Barcelona’s Eric Garcia and Roma’s Bryan Cristante as they aim to strengthen their squad for next season. For Deportivo La Coruña, losing their star player would be a blow but the substantial transfer fee could provide vital funds needed for a promotion push to La Liga. The final hurdle in completing Yeremay’s transfer is agreeing personal terms, which is currently being discussed by the parties.
