Como Set to Sign Celtic Star Nicolas Kühn for €19 Million
Italian Serie A club Como has signed Celtic forward Nicolas Kühn for €19 million. The German winger impressed in the 2024/25 season and will have medical tests before the deal is made official.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Como and Celtic have agreed on Nicolas Kühn‘s transfer, valued at around €19 million (£16.5m). Personal terms are mostly settled, and only medical tests and formal agreements remain. Kühn joined Celtic from Austria Vienna in January 2024 and had a breakthrough season in 2024/25, netting 21 goals and providing 15 assists in 51 matches.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kühn’s move gives Celtic a significant profit after purchasing him for about £3 million 18 months ago. His impressive performances, including vital Champions League goals against clubs like RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich, caught interest from several European clubs. Como, managed by ex-player Cesc Fabregas, ended last season 10th in Serie A. They are heavily investing this summer, and Kühn is their latest prominent addition to strengthen their team.
Como FC finished 10th in Serie A last season.
WHAT NEXT FOR COMO AND CELTIC?
Como plans to add Kühn to their skilled attack lineup, which features players like Assane Diao and new signings Martin Baturina and Jesus Rodriguez. For Celtic, Kühn’s exit is balanced by signings like Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland, expected to replace him on the wing. Both clubs face challenging seasons, with Como focusing on improving their mid-table result, and Celtic defending their Scottish Premiership title while also competing in European tournaments.
