Cyril Ngonge Set for Torino Switch as Loan Deal Nears Completion

Torino are close to signing Belgian winger Cyril Ngonge from Napoli. He will join on loan for €1 million, with the option to buy for €11 million and a four-year deal already agreed upon in principle.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Ngonge, 24, is set to join Torino after both clubs agreed to a loan move with a purchase option for next summer. Since joining Napoli in January 2024, Ngonge has struggled to secure regular playing time, and he has now agreed to personal terms with Torino. The Belgian winger will move on loan immediately, with the option of making the transfer permanent until June 2029 if Torino triggers the clause. Meanwhile, Napoli and Torino continue to discuss a swap deal involving Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić, who could move to Naples in the coming days according to reports.

TORINO’S SITUATION AND NAPOLI’S SEASON SO FAR

Last season, Torino finished mid-table in Serie A, ending the season in tenth place, but lacked attacking drive, which coach Ivan Juric hopes Ngonge can provide to help the team fight for a European place. According to reports, Ngonge’s versatility and attacking flair are key reasons behind the transfer. Meanwhile, Napoli’s revival under Antonio Conte continues after 3rd league title in history and the team will try for a repeat this season. Both clubs are eager to finalise transfers to strengthen before the end of the transfer window and the beginning of the new season, as Napoli plans to acquire new talent following the expected sale of Victor Osimhen.

WHAT NEXT FOR NGONGE AND THE CLUBS?

The final details of the loan move are being sorted, with the aim of making Ngonge’s transfer official in the next few days. Napoli and Torino are also negotiating over the potential Milinković-Savić swap. The Partenopei have requested that the Serbian and Spanish goalkeeper travels to Naples for a medical, and the signing could be completed as early as Friday, as Napoli have agreed personal terms with Milinković-Savić, according to reports leading to an increased urgency for Napoli to secure a new goalkeeper.
