Dan Ndoye Joins Nottingham Forest in Record Move From Bologna
Dan Ndoye has signed a five-year contract with Nottingham Forest. He can extend it for another year, keeping him until June 2031. He transferred from Bologna, and according to reports, Bologna values Dan Ndoye and Sam Beukema together at least €70 million.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Nottingham Forest signed Swiss international Dan Ndoye from Italian club Bologna. The Premier League team will pay €40 million at first. There is an extra €5 million in performance-related bonuses and a 10% sell-on clause. Ndoye passed his medical exam earlier this week. He joins English football after a great season with Bologna, where he scored nine goals and provided six assists in 41 matches last season.
THE TRANSFER CONTEXT
This is one of Nottingham Forest’s biggest signings recently. The club wants to improve its attack for the 2025/26 Premier League season. Last season, Forest finished seventh in the Premier League, qualifying for the Conference League. With Ndoye’s arrival and possibly more signings, Forest hopes to add skill and depth. They are also talking to Fulham winger Adama Traoré. The goal is to have a deep enough squad to fight for European spots, go deep in the Conference League, and try and forget Elanga’s impact in the team, that has since been sold to Newcastle.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR NDOYE AND FOREST?
Dan Ndoye will start pre-season training soon. He could debut in the Premier League’s first match. Nottingham Forest plays Brentford in their opening game. Both teams want to do better than last year; Brentford finished mid-table ans is undergoing deep changes. As Forest adds Ndoye and possibly other players, the manager and fans hope he will make a big impact. They want to move up the table and secure their Premier League spot.
