Dani Carvajal Aims to Return for Club World Cup after Long Injury

Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal hopes to return for the FIFA Club World Cup after a major knee injury sidelined him for much of the season. Carvajal, an experienced right-back, is determined to come back this summer and help his team fight for another trophy.

WHAT HAPPENED TO CARVAJAL?

Carvajal got hurt in October 2024 during a LaLiga match against Villarreal. A collision led to a serious knee injury, forcing him to have surgery and miss the rest of the season. Doctors said he might need eight to twelve months to recover, but he has been improving quickly. Carvajal has started light training and aims to be ready for the Club World Cup, from June 15 to July 13.

HOW IS REAL MADRID DOING THIS SEASON?

Even without Carvajal, Real Madrid are having a strong season. They are top of LaLiga, six points ahead of Barcelona with three matches left. Madrid also reached the UEFA Champions League final for the second year in a row, beating Manchester City and Bayern Munich along the way. Although they have had to rotate their full-back position, their squad depth has kept them in the hunt for major trophies.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CARVAJAL AND REAL MADRID?

Carvajal wants to finish his recovery in time for the Club World Cup, where Madrid will try to add to their record number of international titles. Team doctors and coaches are watching him closely, eager to bring him back but careful not to risk further injury. Real Madrid’s next match is against Granada, who are near the bottom of LaLiga. The team is focused on winning the league title before shifting their attention to the Champions League final and welcoming back Carvajal for an important summer.
