Barcelona’s midfielder Dani Olmo is ready to play again. He is part of the team for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund. This happens after Olmo recovered from an injury.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Dani Olmo got hurt in his right leg during a match against Osasuna on March 27. Doctors thought he would be out for three weeks, but he recovered faster. He is now fit to play in the important match against Dortmund. Olmo missed five games, but Barcelona did well, winning four and drawing one. He trained with the team last week and is now traveling to Dortmund. He might not start but could come on as a substitute.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Having Olmo back is great news for Barcelona. They are entering a busy part of the season. In the first game against Dortmund, Barcelona won 4-0 thanks to goals from Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski (twice), and Lamine Yamal. With a strong lead, coach Hansi Flick can bring Olmo back slowly into the team.

Despite his injuries, Olmo played well when he was fit, scoring 8 goals and making 5 assists in 28 games. His skills in midfield are important for Barcelona as they are trying to win the Champions League, LaLiga, and the Copa del Rey, where they will play against Real Madrid in the final on April 26.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Barcelona will play Borussia Dortmund on April 15 for a place in the Champions League semi-finals and the Catalans arrive to the second leg with a comfortable lead. The schedule is tough, with league games against Celta Vigo and Mallorca on April 19 and April 22, before the Copa del Rey final. With Olmo coming back, Hansi Flick will manage the team carefully to make sure Olmo is ready for these important games as Barcelona aims to add 3 more titles this season, after winning the Spanish Supercopa earlier this season.
