Eberechi Eze Wants Tottenham Move as Crystal Palace Talks Continue

Eberechi Eze has told Crystal Palace he wants to join Tottenham Hotspur. Talks between the clubs continue as the Premier League season starts.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Eze wants to leave Crystal Palace for Tottenham this summer. The 27-year-old midfielder has agreed on personal terms with Spurs. He hopes the transfer happens soon. The two clubs are negotiating. Palace want about £68 million for Eze, as they seek to meet his release clause which has expired according to recent reports. Tottenham are close but have not met that price yet. Reports say Eze might miss Palace’s game against Chelsea while the situation is sorted.

BATTLE FOR EZE AND HIS IMPACT SO FAR

Eze is a key player at Palace. He scored nine goals and had six assists in the 2024-25 Premier League season. Last season, he helped Palace win the FA Cup for the first time, on May 17, 2025, by defeating Manchester City 1–0 according to reports. Palace finished 12th, safe from relegation. Tottenham want Eze as their main creative player because attacking midfielder James Maddison is injured. Spurs finished seventeenth last season, winning the Europa League but missing out on any meaningful results in the Premier League.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR EZE, PALACE AND TOTTENHAM?

Crystal Palace play Chelsea next. Both teams want a strong start, with Chelsea finishing last season in fourth place. Palace may be without their top player. Tottenham have beaten Burnley 3-0 and need a win to keep up with rivals. Spurs and Palace could still make more signings before the window closes. Palace may struggle without Eze, while Spurs hope to announce his signing before their home game against West Ham United next weekend.
