Edon Zhegrova Set to Join Juventus After Last-Minute Flight Change

Edon Zhegrova will arrive in Turin on Monday morning to complete his move from Lille to Juventus after a sudden change in travel plans. The deal between the two clubs is finished, and the Kosovan winger is expected to complete his medical and sign his contract shortly. Reports confirm that Zhegrova has agreed to a contract with Juventus and will earn €2.5 million per season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Zhegrova was originally scheduled to land in Turin late Sunday, but his trip was delayed due to unavailable flight slots. He will now arrive around 8:30am on Monday instead. The transfer is fully agreed for a fee of €20 million, including bonuses, as Juventus has reached a total agreement with both Lille and the player over the weekend, beating Marseille to his signature after weeks of speculation. Zhegrova will sign a long-term contract after medical checks, bringing his five-year stay at Lille to an end.

JUVENTUS AND LILLE: RECENT FORM

Juventus have focused on strengthening their attack after finishing fourth in Serie A last season. They currently sit third in the league, level on points with leaders like Napoli and AS Roma and needing fresh options as they prepare for their upcoming match against Inter Milan, who are currently seventh in the table. Juventus are reshaping their attack ahead of the new Serie A season after previously being in final talks with PSG about Kolo Muani’s transfer. Lille, meanwhile, ended the Ligue 1 season in fourth place, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification. Zhegrova played 12 matches for Lille in 2024/25, with four goals and one assist, though injuries limited his contribution.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Zhegrova is set for immediate integration into Juventus’ squad, with his official debut possible as early as next weekend. Juventus face a tough fixture: Inter Milan are last season’s runner ups and Champions League finalists and sit just three points behind Juve. Adding Zhegrova’s pace and technique will help fill gaps after recent injuries in the squad. Fans are eager to see how quickly he can adapt to Massimiliano Allegri’s system and impact the race for Champions League places, as Juventus need to sell Nico González before they can sign Edon Zhegrova.
